June 4-7, Aria Resort & Casino, Las Vegas
The bar code industry is gearing up for the GS1 Connect 2012 Conference scheduled for June 4-7, at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. If you haven't registered yet, here's what you should know.
GS1 facilitates industry initiatives and administrates the GS1 system of standards. GS1 standards make it possible for product information to be linked to a product and accessible throughout the supply chain with the help of bar code technology. GS1 serves more than 200,000 businesses in 25 industries in the United States alone.
Part of GS1's efforts towards education, support, and connecting players in the industry is the GS1 Connect Conference, which brings together stakeholders, the communities being served, the industries involved, and developers in order to increase supply chain visibility, safety, efficiency, and collaboration. Industries represented include Apparel, Grocery, Food Service, Fresh Food, Healthcare, General Merchandise, Defense, and more.
GS1 Connect 2012 offers your business the chance to move forward by exploring how GS1 standards can help you “leverage the power of information.” The conference will kick off with a keynote address from Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, who will talk about “A Changing Communications Landscape.”
Also, Bob Carpenter, CEO of GS1 US, will lead a discussion group of executives from Darden Restaurants, eBay, McKesson Corporation and Peapod.com, about future applications of GS1 Standards in both physical and digital environments.
